We are all sure that this winter break is going to be not so spontaneous and definitely travel-less. Let's rewind back to the last time we all had to stay in; hobbies were mastered, talents were discovered, and TikTok was trending everywhere. But as we're approaching another long break, a list of things to do is a MUST. Or else the ghost of boredom will make an excellent prey of you as you blindly surf through your social media accounts. Before going over the list, we highly encourage you to cut off-screen time and just have some 'me time.' This list of things is well-crafted and cherry-picked from various institutes and scholarly articles to make the best use of your time...

Catch Up on Sleep

Cat sleeping

To be entirely truthful, catching up on sleep is the most heroic yet productive activity

during this break. First and foremost, you earned it, you pulled all these all-nighters, you worked hard, and most importantly, you didn't get enough sleep. You should now reward your body, mind, and soul with some rest. In his remarkable book: Why We Sleep, neuroscientist Matthew Walker fanatically drew a masterpiece painting the significant connection between the mind, body, and soul. Once you get your dosage of sleeping, you will be able to do anything and everything you desire with enough dopamine and serotonin kickin'.

Learn how to Google!

If you really think we're joking about this one, then you should GOOGLE the stats and check your facts. Most of the people who use the internet today don't actually know how to use Google correctly. Google's algorithm is becoming more tricky; SEOs and competitors all want to be on your search's first page. This leads to not getting the results you are looking for. You might be asking yourself: How's this useful for me? Google offers free and short and simple videos that help you learn how to search effectively and not waste your time on filtering through Ads. Take advantage of this the next time you research for an assignment.

What board games do you know how to play?

How many board games do you know how to play and why you should learn as many as you can. A date idea, family get together, friends get together, or any employee parties. And most importantly, it is your time to shine and strike with your smooth, smart moves and win the bragging rights! Whether you're passionate about playing Chess, Dominoes, Scrabble, or Monopoly, chances are you winning at any of these games will leave all eyes on you.

Hit the Weights

While most of the population is in the firm belief that gyms are currently high risks areas. Well, that's not the case anymore. Almost 90% of gym facilities in the states use Airphx antibacterial air-purifier and follow stringent social distancing guidelines, making it a safe environment for all. If that's still doesn't sound appealing enough to you, working out at home is not a bad idea at all. By all means, this is the best time for you to get ripped, shredded, and become the Jason Statham of the family.

Treat yourself, Improve Yourself.

Many of us are already skilled at something, many of us already got their own hobby. There's nothing wrong with mastering it, perfecting it, and making yourself even better at it. After all, this is the best and only time where you have this void of time and space to do all things that you always wanted to do. If you're a gamer, then you should think about starting your own Twitch channel. If you're a movies fan or just generally into the big screen TV shows, you can start making money by writing your own review and critiques on Medium.com. Medium is an online publishing platform that opens the doors for you to unleash your professional writing career and make you money.

And last but not least: Podcasts. Podcasts are the new radio stations (RIP to the traditional car radio). You can develop a skill, learn a language, and even get insights from industry pioneers.

Stay productive during this year's winter break and keep coming back to vRealm's blog for resources.

Stay safe and happy holidays!
